My favorite pastimes!
Travel I have the most irresistable and unrelenting case of wanderlust. I sometimes wonder if I wasn't left on my parents door step by a band of gypsies because even they couldn't keep up with my need to travel. I think I came by it honestly though, as my family routinely traveled around Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa during my childhood. It wasn't very exotic travel, just a lot of camping and bowling tournaments in cities around that tri-state area, but it was travel none the less. As I grew older, I couldn't wait for the day that I could go off on my own. So that being said, here's a bit more about me and my nomadic adventures.
France - 15 - 31 Aug 2008 - What an incredible trip! It was as if the entire country was waiting for me to arrive and give me the adventure of a lifetime. And it was so much more than just a trip to France. My husband had been deployed to Afghanistan for 6 months and would be meeting me in Paris. I had booked a rental car and a hotel near the Louvre for our first night there, but due to the nature of his work, we didn't know if he would arrive on the same day as I. As it turned out, he was able to hop on a plane to Germany, take the train to Paris and a taxi to Charles De Gaulle Airport. He literally arrived about 30 seconds before I did.
Key West - April 2009 - This place is better than Vegas, Baby. Better weather, surrounded by beautiful green waters and just about anything goes!
Rome - August 2009 - I can hardly wait! Please check back often, I'll be posting some of the sites I want to see and things I want to do. Until then, Arrividerci!
Dining al fresco has always been one of my favorite things. As long as I can remember, the picnic table has been my favorite dining room furniture and the great outdoors, my favorite dining room. Here are some of my favorite locations:
The Patio at the Dragon Hill Lodge in Seoul any time of year has it's own special magic. The bakery just inside has fabulous pastires na dwonderfully hot coffee for those cold Korean winters.
